Artmark Fabrics Company
Artmark Fabrics Company was founded by Michael J. Stapler and Martin J. Clayman in 1959 as a mail-order fabric wholesaler selling decorator fabrics nationwide to decorators, department stores, and architects. In the beginning the business was operated out of the basement of a home in Philadelphia and as it grew a warehouse was built in Frazer, Pennsylvania. This warehouse would eventually become Artmark’s national headquarters.
From humble beginnings in the early 1960s, Stapler and Clayman fostered the growth of Artmark Fabrics Company into the successful entity it is today. The Artmark history, however, can be traced much further than that. Stapler’s grandfather started out in the fabric business more than 110 years ago with a pushcart on the cobbled streets of South Philadelphia. Selling his wares to the home seamstresses of the day, Grandpa Stapler planted the seeds for what would ultimately become
Artmark Fabrics Company.
An Experienced Staff of Dedicated Individuals. Today, the success of Artmark Fabrics Company is as much a tribute to the hard work of Stapler and Clayman as it is to the dedication of their loyal staff, most of whom have been with the company for many years. The experience and knowledge of this staff are what keep Artmark’s customer service at an unprecedented level.
